Privacy Policy

What we store

For each gift: the buyer & recipient email, an optional sender name and message, the gifted product, and the redemption status. We store per-store access tokens to call the Shopify Admin API on the merchant's behalf.

What we don't

Encore is not the merchant of record. Payments, gift cards, taxes and customer payment details are handled entirely by the merchant's Shopify store — Encore never sees or stores card data.

Service providers

We share the minimum data needed with a few processors, never for advertising: Cloudflare (hosting & the database that holds gift records), Resend (delivers gift, reminder and confirmation emails to the addresses you provide), and Shopify (we call the Admin API to create draft orders, gift cards and orders on the merchant's behalf).

Emails

Encore sends only transactional gift emails (a recipient's gift link, a buyer's receipt, a gentle pre-expiry reminder). Reminders include one-click unsubscribe; we never send marketing.

Data retention

Gift records are kept while a gift is active and as the merchant's order history afterward. They're removed when a customer or the store requests it (below), and a store's data is deleted 48h after the app is uninstalled.

Customer data requests & deletion

We honor Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks: customers/data_request, customers/redact (we erase that customer's personal data from gifts), and shop/redact (we delete all of a store's data 48h after uninstall).
